Ikwainye Umunna: Ancient wisdom whispers through the leaves, guiding sustainable forest regeneration. 🌿🌳
Iroko Tree Empowerment Initiative (ITEI) is dedicated to enhancing literacy, promoting environmental sustainability, and supporting self-sufficiency in rural areas through various transformative programmes.
“This is a call to every woman, every man. We are the generation that cannot wait, for the future began yesterday, and we’re already chasing its tail. If you’re ready, let’s shake the world together. Believe anew; it starts within. Destiny need not be our compass; we can forge the change we seek. Imagine the generations to come—the children and their children—knowing a world made better by our hands. Let’s weave hope into the fabric of time, guided by ‘Ikwainye Umunna,’ and watch our movement ripple across Nigeria.” 🌿🌍🌱

Our mission is to empower local Nigerian communities to thrive in harmony with their environment. We achieve this by providing them with the information and technology they need to be self-sufficient, all while respecting the delicate balance of their ecosystem. We believe in a balanced approach that respects local traditions while introducing advancements that can benefit their lives. Our first step is to support their needs for self-sustainability. Alongside this, we gently encourage the preservation of their culture, traditions, and forest regeneration.

Iroko Tree Project:
We have initiated a community-based forest management (CBFM) program called Iroko Tree Project
(ITEI).
ITEI is designed to give the local community a stake in the management of their forests, which
will help to reduce deforestation and promote sustainable forest use.
Our ITEI project aims to bring our community together in a cooperative effort to regenerate our region
with Iroko trees and other native species. Our project is where communities, and researchers work
together to protect the valuable timber species, regenerate degraded land, address local food security
issues, and improve rural livelihoods
